The Sino-Russian Conference on Aerospace and Environmental Medicine was successfully held in Xi'an during September 16-17, 2019. The purpose of this conference is to strengthen the cooperation between China and Russia in the field of space life science and environmental medicine, to provide a international cooperative platform for experts and scholars of space life science to share research achievements, discuss problems and challenges and explore frontier science and technology. The conference was co-sponsored by the School of Life Sciences, NPU and the Institute of Space Biology and Medicine of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
On the morning of September 16, Qian Airong, Vice Dean of School of Life Sciences, presided over the opening ceremony. Eight Russian experts, including ORLOV OLEG, academician of Russian Academy of Sciences and Dr. BELAKOVSKIY MARK, director of Russian Institute of Space Biomedical Sciences attended the conference. Hou Chengyi, vice president of Northwest Polytechnic University, Ma Binghe, deputy dean of the Office of Science and Technology (presiding over work) and representatives of teachers and students of the School of Life Sciences participated the opening ceremony.
Hou Chengyi, on behalf of NPU, warmly welcomed the experts and scholars and the international friends attending the conference. He hoped that the conference would further promote the academic exchanges between experts and scholars of China and Russia in relevant fields, promote the construction and development of related disciplines of our university and comprehensively enhance the academic influence of disciplines. He hoped that the substantive cooperation between our university and the Institute of Space Biology and Medicine would be enhanced and the depth and breadth of international exchanges and cooperation would be promoted.
ORLOV OLEG and Yin Dachuan delivered speeches respectively, hoping that the two sides can conduct in-depth cooperation and exchanges in joint journals, scientific research cooperation and other aspects to promote common development.
The conference lasted for two days. Experts and scholars from China and Russia made 16 excellent invited reports on the theme of "Aerospace and Environmental Medicine" and conducted further academic exchanges.
